Renter’s Insurance

Protect Yourself and Your Flight Training Investment

Don’t take unnecessary risks with your aviation future. Renter’s insurance is affordable, easy to obtain, and essential for safe, worry-free flying. Whether you’re a student pilot or experienced aviator, proper coverage protects your flight training investment and your aviation dreams.

What Is Renter's Insurance?

Renter’s insurance (also called non-owned aircraft insurance) protects you when flying aircraft you don’t own. This coverage fills the gaps left by the flight school’s insurance policy, ensuring that you’re protected during training and recreational flying.

The Coverage Gap
Flight school insurance policies primarily protect the school and the aircraft owner. Without your own coverage, you could be personally liable for aircraft damage, medical expenses, or other costs that exceed the school’s policy limits.

What It Covers

  • Aircraft hull damage while you’re operating the aircraft
  • Liability protection beyond the school’s coverage
  • Legal defense costs if you’re involved in an incident
  • Protection for passengers and third parties

Our Coverage Standards

To ensure all our pilots and aircraft are properly protected, D&J Aviation has established minimum insurance requirements for all renters. These requirements reflect the current aviation insurance environment and provide appropriate protection for both pilots and our aircraft.

Single Engine Aircraft (Warriors & Archers)

  • Liability Coverage: No minimum required (your choice)
  • Aircraft Hull Damage: $50,000 minimum coverage

Multi-Engine Aircraft (Seminoles)

  • Liability Coverage: No minimum required (your choice)
  • Aircraft Hull Damage: $100,000 minimum coverage

Important Application Note

When applying for coverage, you must include “D&J Aviation LLC” as your affiliated flight school in the application. This ensures we receive a copy of your insurance binder once coverage is in place, keeping your training on track.
